You’ve decided to sell your home and are gung-ho about putting up the “For Sale” sign. Though your intentions are in the right place, let’s take a few steps back. First you need to make sure your home is in tip-top shape. If things need fixing, get them fixed. If walls need new paint, paint them. You get the gist.
Once the cleanup is out of the way, you’ll need to maintain the beauty of your polished home.

Follow these simple tips and keep your home looking fabulous and ready for showings at all times.

Keep it clean

I think it’s safe to assume that the majority of us don’t dust and sweep on a daily basis before we head to work. But, while your home is on the market, having a duster and Swiffer handy is a good idea. Take a few extra minutes before work to dust cabinets and shelving in the foyer, living and dining room, and make sure floors are looking spotless in the kitchen.

Make your bed

One crucial thing to do every morning is to tidy up all the beds. A made bed makes the whole room look put together. If you want to kick it up a notch, buy new bedding and a few decorative pillows to give it the HGTV-esque appeal.

Put out plants

Plants and flowers are very inviting. Place a vase with seasonal flowers in the foyer or on the dining room table as a centerpiece. Add small plants throughout on bookshelves, or opt for a floor plant.
And, don’t forget to water and take care of the botany – for obvious reasons.

Let there be light

Set positive vibes in your home by opening up the blinds and curtains before you leave to let in as much natural light as possible. Light coming in from the windows will add a natural dose of happiness.
